I just received an email from someone who is hoping I’ll become a client. OK, so basically she’s prospecting me – which means she’s hoping I’ll be a client and spend my money with her … and then she gives her website address … and in brackets it says (Optimized for Internet Explorer).
Well, it’s not just optimized … it should say “Only for IE Users”. I mean that site is COMPLETELY unusable for me on my Mac. I use firefox for mac. I also tried it on Safari. And on my iPhone. In complete desperation I fired up the old PC and checked out on Firefox for PC. No Go.
I suppose I could have checked it out on IE – but it’s not the point. I don’t want to be told what browser I need to use. No Sir-ee.
So do you want a nice Free Tip? Make sure your website works on all browsers. And if your web developer sprouts some drivel that most browsers are IE … well then fire your web developer, because that’s NOT the point.
Google Chrome claims to have taken 2% of the market share in the first day of release. Mac sales have soared since Microsoft released Vista. So please do yourself a favour and make sure everyone can read your website!
