Woah! What happened to 2009?

OK. I remember at the beginning of the year I promised myself I would be a better blogger. I mean,blog board someone like Chris Mills from imod.co.za – this guy is an amazing blogger. He’s like the uber-blogger in South Africa as far as I’m concerned.

But it didn’t work. I mean, even twitter has fizzled out.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I didn’t have time … it’s just that I ask myself: What am I gonna blog about? I sit down and get ready to write and then every idea I’ve had goes out the window.

I need a routine. I mean, the perks of being an Internet Marketer are awesome. I can, if I want, only work 4 hours a week. The problem is that I end up filling the rest of the week with stupid stuff.

And now the year is over. I didn’t win the Blog Awards 2009 like I had hoped. Ha! But there is always next year.

Life is not just about business

I must admit that I live a pretty quiet life. I don’t mind. I do get a lot done in a day and I enjoy what I do. My day usually starts at 8am when I stroll into the office (from the kitchen … coffee is rather important). It usually starts with me checking emails, chatting to a few people and then “thinking”.

If I had to define what I do in my day … it’s thinking … and a lot of it too. Each client requires something different. For some it’s a dead-easy GoogleAds campaign. For others it can be a little more complicated, like running a super-cool competition.

But I have come to the realisation that besides 2 trips to the shop and 1 trip the bank (yuck) I have actually not left the house since Monday afternoon.

I got a call from Bettina, my SalesPartner and friend this afternoon about a new Thriller that’s being shown at the local theatre and so I am going to join her. I think it must be about 6 or 7 years since I’ve been and that’s rather sad as I actually love the theatre – it’s so much more fun than the movies.

I have no idea what we’re watching, except that it’s a thriller …

So … life is not just about business … it’s about drama too :-) theatre5

The Golden Rule of Blogging

Every book I read on blogging tells me the number 1 rule is to keep a schedule. If you say you’re going to blog every day then you need to DO IT. Well, I’ve broken that rule … my blogging is as routine as … well, I can’t think of a decent simile.

Of course I really admire people like Chris Mills, DChetty (anyone know his first name) and Kerry-Anne Gilowey who really keep it up. They are my blogging heroes.

The thing is I don’t like my theme … it’s gross. I just don’t like it … so you’ll probably see the look and feel of my blog change regularly … probably more than I change my socks. It’s gonna happen, deal with it :-)

I’ll keep you informed.
