Stephen – the point is I don’t want to be forced to make a purchase just to pay for parking … it’s completely stupid. They should provide me with a means to pay effectively, which should include providing change at the Information Desk.

If you go to Pick ‘n Pay and make a purchase they will validate your parking, depending on how long you have been in the mall.

I am happy to openly state that I have twice broken their booms with my bare hands (metal is actually easy to bend) in broad daylight and will continue to do so until they sort this out.

I agree with you Tony – its same here in Durban and I have seen that in Joburg as well. The ONLY Mall I have seen that dispenses notes is the Menlyn Mall in Pretoria, other than that the malls offer you a duffle bag of R2 and R5 coins which cant even fit in a wallet. Needless to say the service by shopping mall attendants is pathetic – have you even tried to ask for directions from those people?

South Africa, lets change and improve our customer service or our person-to-person attitude before its too late.

I carry 2 phones, close friends and family know to try my second number when they can’t get me on 1st. Also helps for 2nd phone not to be a smart phone.

i agree with Angie, i would also like to make use of coupons for our monthly groceries, but the pick n pay coupons, you only find 6 coupons in their fresh living magazine, nothing on online coupons?
other big groceries stores are worse, when you ask the cashier, they never know, what a coupon is?
i had to educate their own staff, when you talk to them, no one has even seen what a coupon looks like….
it’s a shame that big stores are not making use of such a good opportunity to keep the customers…
does anybody know, where to find printable coupons on the net?

I thought I should mention that after long last I have finally dumped Pastel and started using SnapBill http://www.snapbill.com – their system is incredibly user-friendly, available ONLINE, so I can log in anywhere on any machine to send an invoice and reflect payments. It’s perfect for a small business!

After using SnapBill for 2 months I am now in a position where I am comfortable to recommend them to my readers. And they’re also very reasonable. I’m on their R50/month package but they allow you to open an account and use them for free to test out the waters!

I’ve made use of their support system and find the team very knowledgeable and incredibly patient!
